CARDIO AND WEIGHT AREA-REOPENING STAGE 2

We’re excited to welcome you back to the Y! We will have a staged approach to reopening, which will allow us to keep our equipment areas clean and safe. Our second stage is outlined below.  Only active members 13 and up will be able to use these areas at the Y at this time (details below). No outside guests are permitted during Stage 2. All members will need to sign a new waiver. This waiver can be completed before you return to the gym by going HERE

DOWNTOWN YMCA                                                       
Monday – Friday: 
6 a.m. – 1 p.m. | 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
                                              

FAIRGROUNDS YMCA
Monday – Friday:
7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.          
                                                                        

CARTHAGE YMCA 
Monday- Friday: 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. | 4 p.m. – 7 p.m
Saturday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m
RESERVATIONS are Recommended by not required

SACKETS HARBOR YMCA-  CLOSED at this time. Sackets Harbor members will automatically be upgraded to use any other YMCA branches during this time.

STAGE 2 CARDIO AND WEIGHT AREA - REOPENING GUIDELINES

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • Please bring a face covering to wear, a workout towel, and a water bottle. Water fountains will not be available but we do have a bottle refilling station.
  • Acceptable Face coverings are required at all times. Acceptable Face coverings include cloth face masks, surgical masks, and N95 respirators.  NOTE: Bandanas, buffs, shields, and gaiters are not acceptable face coverings for use in gyms and fitness centers and cannot be allowed. 
  • We will not be able to keep your keys or belongings at the Welcome Center. Rental lockers will be available but day-use lockers will not be availablePlease try to keep the items you bring into the Y to a minimum and in a rental locker or with you at all times.

WHAT WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE CARDIO AND WEIGHT AREA?

To ensure all members are able to enjoy the equipment, we will limit the time if necessary. 
  • Wellness floor and equipment
  • Weight room and equipment

WHICH AREAS ARE CLOSED?

  • Childwatch
  • Spin room
  • Sauna
  • Lockers (rentals only)
  • Carthage Showers are not open at this time. Showers are available at other facilities
  • Towel service
  • Water fountains (refillable station for water bottles available) 
  • No coffee service
  • No communal seating area
  • Guest will not be permitted at this time
  • Basement level (downtown)
  • Birthday party reservations
  • The facilities are open to ages 13 and up. Members 13-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must stay together in the cardio & weight area. Members 16-17 are able to work out on their own.

    HEALTH SCREENINGS

    All individuals entering this facility will be health screened. If you do not 
    pass the screening, do not enter the facility and follow the
    instructions provided regarding actions to take and time to return.

 





   WIPE DOWN EQUIPMENT

   Use the cleaning materials provided. Wipe down all equipment before
   and after your workout.  

 

 

 

   WEAR YOUR FACE COVERING 

   The Y requires that you wear your face covering at all times.
   NOTE: Bandanas, buffs, shields, and gaiters are not acceptable face
   coverings for use in gyms and fitness centers and
cannot be allowed. 

 
 
 

 


    
     REDUCED CAPACITY

    Our facility is lowering its occupancy rate. At times of full capacity, you
    will be asked to wait in a designated area until space is available. To
    ensure all members are able to enjoy the equipment, we will limit the
    time if necessary. 

 
 
  

   
    KEEP THE KIDS AT HOME

   
    We are unable to provide Childwatch at this time. Space inside the
    facility is limited. Children and youth ages  5 -12 are not
    allowed in any cardio or weight area. Programs are available for     
    children and youth through sports and recreation guidance in
    other areas. 

 
 
 


    STAY HOME IF YOU'RE SICK
   
    Keep our community healthy. Stay home if you are feeling sick. CDC
    and state guidelines also encourage seniors and other vulnerable
    populations to stay home.
 
 
  


   KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
   Respect all signs regarding physical distancing. Stay at least six feet     
   away from others whenever possible.
